The LPC Missions Ministry seeks to establish healthy, growing Christian fellowships and ministries wherever they are needed, both locally and around the world. We do this by equipping and motivating our church to minister in a global context, whether it's through missions trips, missions fairs, being a part of the missions team, or by connecting with local and international ministries. We utilize a simple five step process that enables our church members and friends to grow through missions.
Locally, Lebanon Chuch supports organizations such as the Pregnancy Resource Center of South Hills in Bethel Park that reaches out to women facing unwanted pregnancies, Rainbow Kitchen Community Services, a food bank in Homestead, the West Mifflin food bank, the Hot Metal Table at the Brashear Association, The Pittsburgh Project and Women's Place, a shelter for abused women.
Around the world, Lebanon supports many exciting and engaged ministries. The Caring Hearts Orphanage and Boy's Home in San Luis, Mexico has been supported by Lebanon for more than a decade. This orphanage reaches out to young children who have nowhere else to turn. 20 folks from Lebanon spent a week at the orphanage and around San Luis doing mission work over the 2008 Thanksgiving holiday. Pictures of this trip can be seen in our photo gallery area.
In addition to the Bethel Orphanage, Lebanon also has a partnership with St. Columba Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) in the southern African country of Malawi. In 2008, Pastor Bob and Jake and Colleen Clawson went to Malawi on the Pittsburgh Presbytery Malawi Partnership trip. We had the privilege of hosting The Rev. Dr. Silas Ncozana and his wife Margaret in August of 2003. Our partnership with St. Columba CCAP continues to be very precious to us at Lebanon Church.
Lebanon also supports many other worthwhile Christian mission efforts locally and around the world. The mission committee has supported mission trips around the Pittsburgh area such as World Vision, Light of Life Rescue Mission, and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
