The following job description outlines the conditions which apply to the position of Worship Coordinator of Lebanon Presbyterian Church:
1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
2. Actively participate in the prayer ministry at LPC.
3. Coordinate the design, development, and implementation of all aspects of contemporary and traditional worship at LPC.
4. Coordinate with the Pastor regarding all aspects of worship (both contemporary and traditional) to include theme for service, sermon title, and scripture [ideally, 6 weeks in advance of service].
5. Coordinate with the LPC Music Director in all aspects of praise and worship music.
6. Coordinate with the LPC Youth Director in all aspects of worship that requires youth involvement and participation.
7. In conjunction with a Worship Team, choose appropriate praise and worship music, drama, dance, video, offertories, liturgical readings, etc.
8. Develop and coordinate the creation and preparation of PowerPoint slides (music, as well as announcements, scripture, unison prayers, doxology, sermon highlights, etc.).
9. Develop and coordinate the scheduling of the worship team (musicians and vocalists), sound technician(s), PowerPoint operators, “grips”, drama team, dance team, video team, and lighting tech’s as needed, for both traditional and contemporary worship.
10. Develop and maintain a praise, worship, and “special” song repertoire for contemporary worship, of over 200 songs.
11. Maintain a music library in compliance with CCLI copyright laws.
12. Recruit new members for the contemporary worship ministry team, to include musicians, vocalists, sound team members, lighting techs, grips, mimes, clowns, puppeteers, dance and drama team members, etc.
13. Prepare, teach, and rehearse musicians who are either new or learning for eventual membership in the praise and worship band.
14. Lead the praise and worship band in both rehearsal and worship, in coordination with the Worship Team (to include the LPC Music Director and the LPC Youth Director.).
15. Meet with the pastoral staff, Worship and Music Committee, Personnel Committee, session, and Youth Group, as directed by the pastor/Head of Staff.
16. Plan, prepare, and market special music/drama events in coordination with the LPC Music Director, and Worship and Music Committee.
17. Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement all advertising/marketing, as needed, with the Worship and Music Committee.
18. Plan and organize events (dinners, retreats, etc.) for nurturing the fellowship and spiritual health of the contemporary worship ministry team.
19. Develop a network with other contemporary worship leaders/coordinators in both Pittsburgh presbytery, and western PA.
Conditions of Employment:
Working hours will be 20 hours per week.
Periodic performance evaluations will be provided by the Pastor, who is the Head of Staff. The Pastor is the supervisor of all members of the church staff.
