Memorial Fund Guidelines PDF Print E-mail
The Lebanon Presbyterian Church Memorial Gift Fund was established in 1965 by the Session as a repository for monetary gifts given in memory of loved ones and friends who have passed away.  A separate savings account has been established to accumulate these memorial gifts and honorariums so that they might be used more effectively in procuring those items and furnishing considered necessary, by the Session, to further the spiritual programs of Lebanon Church.  The Memorial Gift Fund provides the opportunity for members and friends to contribute lasting memorials for loved ones, or events, or just a special place to invest in the works of Lebanon Presbyterian Church and thus the Kingdom of God.

Guidelines governing the use of the Memorial Gift Fund have been established as follows:

1.  The Memorial Gift Fund shall be administered by the Session.  Specifically, the Session shall be responsible for the selection, acquisition, and maintenance or use of the Memorium items and furnishings.

2.  The Lebanon Presbyterian Church programs to be benefited by the Memorial Gift Fund shall be limited to the Worship and Music, Evangelism (Outreach) and Christian Education programs.  The items sponsored by the Memorial Gift Fund for the designated programs shall be for projects over and beyond the church budget.

3.  The church office / minister will acknowledge donations to the Memorial Gift Fund and, if given in memory of a friend or loved one, will send a copy of the acknowledgment to the family of the deceased.  The Memorial Fund Treasurer shall record all of the gifts and memoriums for transfer, on a yearly basis, to the Memorial Book currently maintained in the display case in the church foyer.

Guidelines have also been established for specific memorial gifts as follows:  The Session shall be responsible for the approval of individually endowed memorial gifts; these gifts to be recorded in the Memorial Books.  Recording memoriums, memorial gifts, etc. in the Memorial Book shall take the place of memorial and dedicatory plaques throughout the church.
