Lebanon Presbyterian Church is Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and Bible-based. We believe that Jesus Christ calls us to proclaim the GOOD NEWS to all those who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Regardless of the fads and the fashions of society or our denomination, our first allegiance was, is, and will continue to be to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We believe that all sin and fall short of the glory of God, but that through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, all those who believe are saved. We believe that through the salvation we receive, we must with our actions and words share and proclaim Jesus Christ. In all ways and in all things we believe that the Holy Spirit is our Counselor and Guide and shows us the path to walk as Christians in this day and time.
Therefore, in the midst of the spiritual struggles that afflict the Presbyterian Church (USA), we affirm the three tenets of the Confessing Church Movement of the Presbyterian Church (USA):
1. That Jesus Christ alone is Lord of all and the only way to salvation.
2. That holy Scripture is the Triune God's revealed Word, and the Church's only infallible rule of faith and life.
3. That God's people are called to holiness in all aspects of life. This includes honoring the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, the only relationship within which sexual activity is appropriate.
We acknowledge that these three tenets of the Confessing Church Movement do not fully expound all of Scripture, but in the light of society's desire to devalue truth and lift up falsehood as good, we as a church have unanimously affirmed these three tenets as what we believe!
